Content Advisory

Suicide Cowboys is a modern existential western that contains extensive discussions of suicide, suicidal ideation, depression, self-harm, and mental health struggles. While the play confronts these subjects directly, it ultimately centers on connection, care, survival, and the possibility of choosing life in the face of suffering.

The play includes descriptions of past suicide attempts, recurring thoughts of self-harm, and feelings of despair and isolation, as well as references to specific suicide methods, including jumping from heights, hanging, cutting, and firearms. There are also discussions and descriptions of surviving suicide attempts and seeking support. The play also features stylized depictions of cowboy showdowns that include gun violence.

Additional content includes depictions of alcohol use and intoxication, discussions of therapy and psychiatric medication, references to emotional abuse, grief, loneliness, and strained family relationships. The play also contains strong language throughout.
