BAPF Opening Night Reception

Friday, April 12, 5:30–7 pm before Water Spirits 

Start your festival experience on a high note and meet the BAPF artists before the reading while enjoying drinks and appetizers at our exclusive opening night reception.

Open only to producers, all access pass holders, & special invite.

Embodying Spiritual Practice Workshop

Saturday, April 13 from 3–5PM in the Magic Lobby  

Whether it’s through movement, music, and storytelling– people have always used rituals of artistic expression to connect with their history, with community, and with something beyond ourselves. How do these rituals give comfort in crisis, communion in celebration, and clarity through all the moments in between?

Join Playwrights Foundation for an interactive exploration of the intersection of artistic and spiritual rituals.

Playwrights’ Happy Hour: With Lauren Gunderson

Saturday, April 13 from 5–7PM at Radhaus

Playwrights’ Happy Hour: Lauren Gunderson will lead an open discussion for and with any interested theatre makers and theatre fans about process, craft and our passion for new plays. Join us as we talk shop, share experiences, and come together in creative conversation over food and drinks at Radhaus in Fort Mason in between BAPF events.

Theatre Pros Weekend Kick Off Party

Friday, April 19 after Nan at INTERVAL

Come meet other theater pros, BAPF artists, and festival attendees, and enjoy craft cocktails and nonalcoholic drinks across the street at Interval surrounded floor to ceiling by books.

Resident Playwright Mini Showcase & Reception

Saturday, April 20 from 4-6 pm at YPT at The Magic

Meet and experience work by Playwrights Foundation’s 2024–25 Resident Playwrights Cat Brooks, Ruben Grijalva, Sloka Krishnan and Leigh M. Marshall at a mini showcase. Alicia Kester Celebration of Life

Join us in commemorating Alicia’s life and enduring legacy at a special gathering in the theater following the second performance of Water Spirits. Note: An altar will be set up in the theater in Alicia’s honor. You are welcome to bring offerings and share cherished memories connected to her.

All are welcome to share in this moment of remembrance.

Festival Closing Party

Sunday, April 21 from 4:30-6:45 pm at Sacred Taco 

Mix and mingle over food with other community members before the final reading of BAPF46.
