After the death of their mother, Jodie goes back home to help her brother, Clarence, run the family magic shop. As the pressure to keep the business alive grows, they find themselves dealing not only with loss and new responsibility but also the forces of gentrification – and – a snake deity conjured from a spell gone wrong.

Playwright
Johnny G. Lloyd

Johnny G. Lloyd (he/him) is a New York-based writer and producer. Recent productions include Or, An Astronaut Play (Co-Production, InVersion Theatre & The Tank) and Round (Samuel French Off-Off Broadway Short Play Festival). Other recent plays include love is hard and absolutely (probably) worth it. His work has been seen and developed at Second Stage Theater, 59E59, Dixon Place, Judson Memorial Church, JAGFest (White River Junction, VT), TheatreLab (Boca Raton, FL), and more. As a writer, Lloyd has collaborated with companies such as Theater in Quarantine and Salon Séance. Lloyd is a member of the 2020-2021 Clubbed Thumb Early-Career Writers Group and was previously a member of the 2019-2020 Liberation Theatre Company’s Writing Residency. Lloyd was a semi-finalist for the 2018 Open-Application Commission at Clubbed Thumb and a finalist for the 2020 Columbia@Roundabout Reading Series. He is the Director of Artistic Development at The Tank and Producing Director for InVersion Theatre.

Leigh Rondon-Davis

Leigh Rondon-Davis (they/them) is a performer, dramaturg, and director from both New York City and the Bay Area. They attended Wellesley College and was a member of Oakland’s Laney College Fusion Theatre Project. Leigh’s performance credits include: Revolt. She Said. Revolt Again. and Inked Baby (Crowded Fire Theater), Variety Pack in 2018 and 2019 (Cutting Ball Theater), Where The Boys Are (FaultLine Theater), A 24-Decade History of Popular Music (Curran and Magic Theatre), and Hamlet and Dance of the Holy Ghosts (Oakland Theater Project). They have directed and dramaturged at Shotgun Players, Oakland Theater Project, PlayGround, Aurora Theatre Company, Crowded Fire, TheatreFirst, Playwrights Foundation, Moxie Arts NYC, and Magic Theatre. Leigh currently works for Shotgun Players in Berkeley and Crowded Fire Theater in SF where they host a weekly Twitch Stream and are a Resident Artist. They are also an Artistic Company Member at Shotgun and Oakland Theater Project.

Dramaturg
Adrena Williams

Adrena Williams (she/her) is a freelance dramaturg based in West Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Adrena received a B.A. in English from Temple University, and completed her Master’s Degree in Theatre at Villanova University. In Philadelphia, she has served as a production dramaturg with Drexel University, Simpatico Theatre, Inis Nua Theatre, People’s Light, and InterAct Theatre Co., among others.
