Internship and Fellowship Opportunities


Playwrights Foundation, a center for new play development in San Francisco, has a firm belief in professional development and mentorship for aspiring non-profit administrators and arts managers. To support this mentorship, PF provides creative, ambitious, and savvy individuals the exciting opportunity to gain “hands on” experience working as either interns or fellows within the organization. PF has programs that operate year-round, offering successful candidates the chance to see first hand how programs are planned and executed, and non-profit organizations are run.


This year will mark the 38th Annual Bay Area Playwrights Festival, multiple Rough Readings, and several fundraising efforts for the organization. We are seeking interns and/or fellows to join us as we work to further the leading New Play Development organization on the West Coast.

  • Production Internship

    Interns/Fellows are expected to work at least 15 hours per week. The internship will take place at the Playwrights Foundation offices, located at 1616 16th Street, San Francisco.

    Letters of recommendation are available upon request. College credit is available per University or department guidelines.

    Internship Periods(dates are negotiable and vary by position)
    Winter/Spring 2015: March - June, 2015
    Summer 2015: June - July, 2015


    Playwrights Foundation will be reviewing applications on a rolling basis until the positions are filled.
